Alberto Di Minin - Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies

Alberto Di Minin is Full Professor of Strategy (Economia e Gestione delle Imprese) at the Institute of Management - Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Visiting Professor at the Department of Operations, Organization, and Human Resources - Twente University in The Netherlands, and Research Fellow with the Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy (BRIE, University of California Berkeley). Alberto's research and teaching deal with the appropriability of innovation. In particular, he focuses on open innovation and business model innovation. He also works on technology transfer, intellectual property, and R&D management. His latest publications appeared on California Management Review, J. of International Business Studies, R&D Management J., Research Policy.

 

 

Nicola Bellini - Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies

He is a Full Professor of Management at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa and Director of the Tourism Management Institute at the La Rochelle Business School. From 2007 to 2014 he was Director of the Galileo Galilei Italian Institute in Chongqing and Co-Director of the Confucius Institute in Pisa. 

 

Giuseppe Martinico - Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies

Associate Professor of Comparative Public Law at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. Previously he was Garcìa Pelayo Fellow at the Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales in Madrid, Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute, and post-doc fellow at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. He is also an expert at the Center for Judicial Cooperation of the European University Institute, editor of STALS (Sant'Anna Legal Studies), and of Perspectives on Federalism.

 

Pietro Tonutti - Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies

He is currently a Full Professor of Abroricoltura Generale e Coltivazioni Arboree at the Scuola Superiore sant'Anna (SSSA) where he is the head of the Postharvest Research Team. He has been in charge as Director of the Research Division, Director of the Institute of Life Science, and Head of the International Relations Office. He got the MSc In Agricultural Sciences and the Ph.D. in Crop Physiology at the University of Padova.

 

Nicola Vitiello - Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies 

Nicola Vitiello is Associate Professor with The BioRobotics Institute (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, SSSA, Pisa, Italy) where he leads the Wearable Robotics Laboratory. He is a co-author of more than 70 ISI/Scopus papers and co-inventor of more than 20 patents/patent applications. He served as the Scientific Secretary of the EU FP7 CA-RoboCom project, and he was the scientific coordinator of the EU FP7 CYBERLEGs project. Currently, he is the scientific coordinator of the H2020-ICT-CYBERLEGs Plus Plus project, the national project MOTU funded by INAIL, and is a partner of the H2020-FoF-HUMAN project. He is co-founder, director, and advisor of IUVO Srl, a spin-off company of SSSA.

 

 

Marco Bonaglia - Chongqing University

Marco Bonaglia is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Business Administration at Chongqing University, with a research on the topic of “tourism management”. He previously worked in Milan for non-profit realities dealing with Chinese investments in Italy and Sino-Italian relations. His main research interests are Western China economic development and the Chongqing tourism sector.

Antonio Crupi - Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies

Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Institute of Management of Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and Research Affiliate with the Strategic and Technology Innovation Management (STIM) at the Institute of Manufacturing of the University of Cambridge. Antonio holds a Ph.D. in Economics Statistics and Management. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (CN) and Sogang University (KR). His research concerns Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Intellectual Property.

Alessandro Zadro - Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies & Cercius Group 

Alessandro Zadro is Program Manager at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. Since April 2020, he has been Business Development Manager for Western Europe at Cercius Group. He holds an MA in Chinese Studies from SOAS and an MA in International Relations from Peking University. His main interests are in Chinese OFDI to the EU and Chinese contemporary society, with a focus on internal migration.

Comparative law professor at Roma Tre and Former legal affairs attaché at the embassy of Italy in China (Chinese law professor at the University of Macerata - Asian History professor at the University of Roma Tre).

 

Antonio Apicella - University of Campania - Luigi Vanvitelli

He is a Full professor of Materials Science and technology at the Second University of Naples carrying out the base and industrial research activities in the field of the polymer and composite materials. Current research on new biomimetic materials is carried out at the Advanced Materials Lab of the University of Campania, Luigi Vanvitelli.

 

Filippo Fasulo - China Foundation's Centre on Business Research

Filippo Fasulo is Director at the Italy China Foundation's Centre on Business Research (CeSIF) and Associate Research Fellow at ISPI. In 2014, he earned a Ph.D. in Politics and Istitutions from the Catholic University of Milan that was awarded the Cesare Bonacossa Prize by the University of Pavia. In 2012, he received an MSc in China in Comparative Perspectives at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Since 2011, he has been lecturing on China-related topics at the Catholic University of Milan and since 2017 at Scuola Superiore S.Anna in Pisa. He is also Academic Secretary for Far Eastern Studies at the Accademia Ambrosiana in Milan and a member of the editorial board of Mondo Cinese, the most important Italian journal on contemporary China. In 2017 he was selected to attend the Young Sinologist Visiting Programme in Shanghai. Since 2016 he is the author of CeSIF's annual report on China, the most authoritative document in Italian language on China’s economy. Indeed, the foreword of its 2019's edition was written by the Italian Prime Minister, Prof. Giuseppe Conte.

 

Plinio Innocenzi - University of Sassari 

Full Professor of Materials Science and Technology at the University of Sassari and from 2010 to 2019 scientific officer at the Italian Embassy in Beijing.

 

 

 

 

Francesca Spigarelli - University of Macerata

Francesca Spigarelli is an Associate Professor of Applied Economics, at the University of Macerata, where she teaches Political Economics and Economics of Innovation. She is the Director of the Research Center "China Center" (www.unimc.it/chinacenter).

She is Pro-Rector of self-entrepreneurship, technology transfer and the European Researchers' Charter, University of Macerata. She is the Coordinator of the European project "PEOPLE MCSA ITN: Horizon 2020" on Heart (Health-related Activity Recognition system based on IoT. An interdisciplinary training program for young researchers). She is also the Scientific Coordinator of LUCI, the Laboratory for creativity and innovation.

 

Liu Wei - Chongqing University

Liu Wei is a Professor and doctoral tutor of the School of Economics and Business Administration of Chongqing University and also Deputy Director of the Research Center for Business Administration and Economic Development, Chongqing University. 
He has been mainly engaged in teaching and scientific research in the fields of technology innovation management, entrepreneurship, technology finance, and venture capital. In his career, he has published more than 100 papers in academic journals so far, such as "Journal of Management Engineering", "Journal of Marketing Science", "Technical Economics and Quantitative Economics", "Chinese Mechanical Engineering", "Journal of Mechanical Engineering". Professor Liu Wei is a great friend of Sant’Anna School and of Galilei Institute in Chongqing.

 

Pu Yongjian - Chongqing University 

Professor Pu Yongjian is currently a second-level Professor and doctoral tutor of the School of Economics and Business Administration of Chongqing University (first batch). In his spare time, he is also a painter, writer, and he is often invited to discuss the topics of Chongqing economic development, Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, and tourism on Chinese local and national television. In the past, he had the chance to closely cooperate with Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and the Galileo Galilei Institute in Chongqing, and travel to Pisa and Italy on several occasions. He publishes on a daily basis on his socials and other Wechat pages reflections on Philosophy, art, and Chongqing development.

Alberto Bradanini - Head of Centro Studi sulla Cina Contemporanea & Former Ambassador of Italy to Beijing

Alberto Bradanini was born in September 7th, 1950. In July 1974, he graduated from University of Roma La Sapienza’s Department of Political Science. After the graduation, he started a Master in Political Science. In the past, he worked for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Embassy to Venezuela; then he successively held the posts of Italian Consul General to Hong Kong and Italian Ambassador to Iran. He held the posts of Italian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China from 2013 to 2015. He is now Head of Centro Studi sulla Cina Contemporanea. 

 

Anna Facchinetti - Euraxess China

Anna Facchinetti is Country Representative of EURAXESS China since January 2020. She had worked as Executive Director and earlier as Programme Manager for the Galileo Galilei Italian Institute in Chongqing since 2015, developing collaborations between Chinese and Italian research institutions, focusing primarily on Science, Technology, and Innovation.
Previously, she was a junior researcher at the European Institute for Asian Studies, a Brussels-based think tank that develops political research on EU-Asia issues, where she built expertise of Sino-European relations.
She holds a Masters in Chinese studies from the University of Zhejiang, a Masters in International Relations from the University of Turin, and a BA in East Asia Cultures and Languages from the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

 

Paolo Gai - Director, Embedded Software Lab, Evidence

Paolo Gai received the M.S. degree (with honors) in computer science engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 2000, and the Ph.D. in computer engineering from the ReTiS Lab of the Scuola Superiore S. Anna, Pisa, in 2004.,Since 2002 he is CEO of Evidence Srl, a spinoff company of the Scuola Superiore S. Anna. His main research areas are multiprocessor real-time scheduling, memory and code optimization techniques for embedded systems, real-time operating systems for multiprocessor system-on-a-chip especially targeted to automotive applications, real-time networks, and interfaces for the specification of modular scheduling algorithms in real-time operating systems. 

 

Guido Giacconi - In3act

Co-founder and President of In3act, CEO of In3act Global and Chairman of In3act Business and Investment Consulting (Beijing) Ltd and Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China.

 

Francesco Grillo - Vision Think Tank

Currently, he is a Professional Affiliate at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa and teaches and at the University of International Business Economics in Beijing. Graduated with Laude in Economics at LUISS University (ROME), before getting an MBA from Boston University as a Fullbright Scholar. He also holds a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has been a Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute and Academic Visitor at St. Antony's College (University of Oxford), as well as Advisor to the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities, and Research.

Fabrizio Landi - Panakes Partners

Fabrizio Landi graduated in Biomedical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano.
In 1981 he joined the Ansaldo Group in Genoa, where he assumed responsibility for strategic marketing in the biomedical electronics sector and since then he has become one of the protagonists of the new industrial initiative that is now Esaote.
He is the founder and promoter of Panakes Partners SGR, an investment company that today manages the first Venture Capital and Growth Investment Fund focused only on the Med Tech sector, launched at the beginning of 2016. In this context, he is Chairman of two companies in which the Panakes Fund invested.
He is a member of the Presidential Committee, with responsibility for innovation of Confindustria Toscana Sud as well as being in the Board of Confindustria Firenze.

 

Liu Haibo - Chinese Academy of Sciences 

Haibo Liu is a Doctoral supervisor, Senior Fellow of Institutes of Science and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and professor of the School of Public Policy and Management / School of Intellectual Property, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a Senior Fellow of China High-tech Zones Research Center,

Member of the National Knowledge Management Standardization Committee, and National Intellectual Property Leading Talent. His current research interest includes intellectual property strategy, technology transfer strategy, and regional innovation strategy. 

 

Paola Pacchiana - EUROPASS 

After graduating in Foreign Languages and Literatures, she specialized in tourism promotion, earning a master's degree from the University of Lyon. She began her career at the French tourism board in Italy, after a few years he decided to move abroad, dealing with sales for oversea markets for the SEH Hotels hotel chain and later for the Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs group. She returns to Italy as Tourism Manager at Scalo Milano and since March 2018 she has joined Europass for commercial development on the Italian market.

 

Simone Pieranni - Il Manifesto 

Graduated in Political Science, in 2009 he founded China Files, an editorial agency based in Beijing that collaborates with Italian media with reports and articles on China. From 2006 to 2014 he lived in China, writing for Italian and international media. Since 2014 he has been working on the foreign drafting of the Manifesto. Together with Giada Messetti, he is the author of the podcast on China Riciò, produced by Piano P. He is the author of Brand Tibet (Derive Approdi, 2010), Cina Globale (Manifestolibri, 2017), of the novel Genova Macaia (Laterza, 2017) and of Red Mirror, Il nostro Futuro si scrive in Cina. (Laterza, 2020).

Giulio Saitta - China Construction Bank Europe 

Giulio Saitta is a Senior Banker in CCB China Construction Bank Europe Milan Branch. He has a degree in Economy got in 2002 at Turin University, and an Executive Master in Corporate Finance & Banking got at Bocconi Milan Business School got in 2011. He has 18y working experience, started  working in Deloitte , then in Intesa Sanpaolo, and recently in CCB Milan Branch Office from 2016.He is responsible for the business in Italy for CCB, he relates and originate business with Large and Mid Italian Corporates.

He is living an interesting experience, doing business in Italy from a leading Chinese Bank perspective.

 

Wu Xueyuan - Chongqing University

Xueyan WU is an associate professor at the Law School of Chongqing University and an affiliate professor of the DIRPOLIS Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. She is the executive director of the international law research center on “Belt and Road” of Chongqing University. Her research area includes international economic law, international environmental law and comparative law.

 

 

Zhang Yafeng - University of Chinese Academy of Sciences 

YaFeng Zhang received his PhD of management from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and Institutes of Science and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASISD). He has been a visiting PhD at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa, Italy). He holds a position of Special Research Assistant and post-doctoral researcher at UCAS. His main research areas include: management and policy of intellectual property, commercialization of technology and patent.

 

 

Zhu Ming - Pisa Research Center, Huawei

Previously, he worked as a Software Engineering Group Manager at Delphi China Techincal Center in Shanghai. In 2009, he became President of Huawei Research Center in Pisa.

Mei Guoli - Confucius Institute in Pisa

 Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Chongqing University, China. She was a volunteer Chinese teacher in Thailand, South Africa, and the United States from 2014 to 2018. Since September 2018, she has been a Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute in Pisa, Italy.

 

Li Yanyan - Confucius Institute in Pisa

Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Chongqing University, China. Since February 2018, he is a teacher at the Confucius Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant’ Anna in Pisa. Responsible for Chinese language courses including general public Chinese courses from level one to level four, Chinese curricular courses in Pisa University, business Chinese course in SITAEL company, Chinese courses in Tuscany high schools.

 

TEACHING ASSISTANT

 

Fabiana De Carlo - Confucius Institute in Pisa

She is currently Program Officer of scientific activities and academic cooperation with China at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.

She also takes care of the organization and management of Chinese language courses and of the coordination of cultural activities of Pisa Confucius Institute.

MA in International Relations - “China and Global Studies” - from Turin University, she is a sinologist and language and cultural mediator. Previously, she worked at ANGI 中意亲年会, no-profit organization based in Torino, working on the process of integration of Chinese citizen on the territory.
