At Stanford University since 1995, Professor Tom Byers focuses on education regarding high-growth entrepreneurship and technology innovation. He is the first holder of the Entrepreneurship Professorship endowed chair in the School of Engineering, and is also a Bass University Fellow in Undergraduate Education. He is a past recipient of the prestigious Gordon Prize by the National Academy of Engineering in the USA and Stanford University's Gores Award, which is its highest honor for excellence in teaching. Mark Cutkosky

Mark Cutkosky applies analyses, simulations, and experiments to the design and control of robotic hands, tactile sensors, and devices for human/computer interaction. In manufacturing, his work focuses on design tools for rapid prototyping. More info available here

 

 

Riitta Katila

Professor

Management Science and Engineering

Riitta Katila is a Professor of Management Science & Engineering and W.M. Keck Foundation Faculty Scholar at Stanford University, and research director of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program. Her research is at the intersection of technology strategy and organizational learning, using machine learning, statistical analysis, and mixed methods. She is an expert on innovation, competition, and entrepreneurship in large firms. More info available here

 

Michael Lepech

Micheal Lepech is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Senior Fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford University. Mike's research focuses on the integration of sustainability indicators into engineering design, ranging from materials design, structural design, to operation management and finance. Within civil engineering, his research has led to the development of new building materials and building practices for more sustainable built environments. More info available here

 

 Michael Lyons

Mr. Lyons is currently a managing director of NewLine Ventures, LLC, a technology advisory and venture capital group working with Fortune 500 clients and the U.S. Government. He also serves as Chairman of cybersecurity firm CypherPath, a converged infrastructure virtualization company. Concurrently, Mr. Lyons is an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University in both Departments of Management Science and Engineering and Civil and Environmental Engineering. Serving in the Stanford position since 1988, he was a co-developer of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program with Prof. Tom Byers and the founding professor of Technology Venture Formation. Pedram Mokrian

Pedram Mokrian's expertise lies at the intersection of how new technologies (connected devices, mobile, software systems), analytics (big data stack), and new business models (consumer marketplaces, product-driven services) can disrupt large incumbent markets such as energy, manufacturing, logistics, education, and commerce. Jeremy Sabol

Jeremy Sabol has taught as a Lecturer in Stanford University’s Program in Structured Liberal Education (SLE) on and off since 2003. Jeremy specializes in early modern literature and philosophy, Cartesianism, and existentialism. Jeremy is currently working on the later writings of Jean-Paul Sartre. In addition to teaching in SLE, Jeremy also lectures in Stanford’s Continuing Studies program, where he has taught such courses as "Envisioning the Good Life," "The Examined Life: The Story of Philosophy in the West," "Hands-On Existentialism," and "Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre: A 20th-Century Romance."
